FabPage FAQ

Q. How do I get into my account to work on my FabPage Web Site?
A. You can log in HERE. Enter your site name (eg. YourName.fabpage.com) and your password then click the "Login!" Button.

Q. Where can I get more information about FabPage and/or using FabPage to build my Web Site?
A.
For general information about what you get with your FabPage account - a comparison of the different plans offered and/or to sign up for an account - CLICK HERE. For more detailed information about support and help with using your FabPage account once you have joined CLICK HERE.

Q. What will by Web Site address (URL) be once I have joined?
A.
If you have your own domain name and want to use it for your site, you can use it with your FabPage account, you will see an option to set that up while signing up for an account. If you don't have your own domain, you can use the FabPage subdomain and your Web Site URL will be: http://YourName.fabpage.com. So, let's say you have called your site "ThisIsMySite", your URL would be http://thisismysite.fabpage.com.

Q. What do the ads look like?
A.
You can see a sample site HERE. What you see at that site is one of two options you can choose from for the display of the ads.

Q. How can I change the way ads are displayed on my free site?
A.
First, log into your account. Then click on the link that says "Enhance My Site". (In the "Work on my Site" section). Now, click on the link that says "Change Your Banner Ads". Now you will have three options to choose from. The first option is the "No Banner Option" and will remove all ads from your site if you upgrade to the no ads plan for $1.99 per month. (Everything else will be the same in your account that you already have with the free account, but all the ads will be removed.) The next option is "Inline Option" this option places a bannerbar at the top of every page on your site, as well as a collapsible side tower ad and an ad at the bottom (this is the option you see at the sample site linked to in question right above this one). Your third option is "Framed Option" This option will work best for you if your site contains framesets, or if you prefer to display the banner in a frame at the top or bottom of your page (it is also, IMO, the least intrusive ad banner option).

Q. I already have a Web Site somewhere else. Can I move it here?
A.
Yes. There is a Site Mover utility with your FabPage account that will help you do that, but the host you are moving your site from must have FTP enabled to use the Site Mover. Your Free FabPage account includes an Online File Manager to upload your site from your computer to your account, so if you have your pages and files saved in your computer you can upload them from there if your current host does not have FTP access. If you have a paid/upgraded account (other than the $1.99 option which only removes ads), you will also have FTP access to upload your site.

Q. I want to use my own HTML editor instead of the FabPage templates. Can I do that?
A.
Yes. You can make your site anywhere and then use your File Manager to upload it to your FabPage account. If you are using one of the paid/upgraded hosting options (other than the $1.99 option which only removes ads), you will be able to FTP your site in as well.

Q. Can I have more than one FabPage account?
A.
Yes, but each account must host a different site with a different topic.

Q. Can I put banner exchange or affiliate banners on my site?
A.
Although our policy currently states that no other banners can be on your site, there are some exceptions: We will allow banners placed on your page through any affiliate program or link exchange program, as long as the content of the banners do not violate our policies, such as links to pornography or warez sites.

Q. Where can I find tools and/or software to help me build my site, make graphics and/or add cool things to my Web site?
A.
Check our Webmaster Tools directory. You will find most all of what you are looking for at places listed there. We also have a range of graphics, code and script generators there.

Q. I want my own Domain Name. How do I get one?
A.
You can register a domain name at a lot of different places. I went to SimpleUrl.com to get my domains and recommend them highly. They will register your Domain Name and also give you URL and E-Mail forwarding. The days of EXPENSIVE Domain Name registration are over!

Q. I have my own Domain Name. How do I use it to send visitors to my FabPage site?
A.
We can host your domain name here, but you need to sign up for an account first. Go to the sign up page HERE and choose "Option 3: Transfer a Domain". Sign up for your account and follow the instructions from there. If you have URL forwarding with your Domain, you can also just forward your Domain traffic to your FabPage URL if you prefer.
